Your Indie Pop Record Label Is Weird, Ours Is Too!

Ana Them Records (Seattle, WA), because no one wants to hear it!

Alternative music lives on in this sort of like Indie Pop record label. Ana Them Records plays music that sounds a lot like Indie Pop, sounds a lot like Power Pop but still sounds like something unique.

Help!

Support Local Music no matter what but also support us by finding bands we can support. Or you can join us by blogging about your favorite local artists, they don't have to be on our label. We give props where props is due. If we use your story for our blog, you will get credit and we'll hype you big time! We also love fan art, so if you know of an artist looking for a virtual gallery to post their images contact us at anathem@mac.com.

Ana Them Records Signs Campfire OK:

Ana Them Records recently signed our latest band to our roster. We're very pleased to welcome Campfire OK. Campfire OK is an indie band based in Seattle. They deliver exciting music performances as well as display expert skill. ATR is actually a little late to the Campfire OK party. This band has been gaining some local publicity throughout these past months. It was only due to a chance encounter between the leader of the band (Mychal) and the founder of ATR (Cedric Ross) that the two discovered they both shared a common interest in music. We think you're going to like Campfire OK. We know we do! Stay tuned as we prepare to deliver their debut album release (CD, digital and vinyl) early 2011.

Fred Roth Revue:

The Fred Roth Revue continues to work in the studio on thier next release which is now scheduled for 2011. It turns out that this past spring provided the band with a number of setbacks in production. Drama, demands, scandal...you know the deal! Consequently, ATR has decided to push the release back to a more suitable time. Now that Campfire OK has joined the roster, a new schedule is in effect. It's cool because everyone is on board. And that's not just media hype.

Music Movies:
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is my latest pick for music related movies. This is like a comic book and a music video with lots of action. No! I haven't seen it yet but you can just tell it's going to be great. Oh and did you know that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (aka Ramona Flowers in the film) will also be staring in the very cool and likely not too musicly themed The Thing in 2011? (look it up on IMDB).

Indie Pop Music News:
The Indie Pop Music Scene has never been so divided. In the UK, Indie Pop seems to be finding a resurgence whereas in the US, it's almost treated like a bad word. Not exactly treated like Grunge but it ain't sounding like sunshine. In fact the word Indie has lost it's cool somewhere over the past few years. So uh...what does a Indie Pop, Power Pop record label like Ana Them Records do? The throw away their hard earned money and make more Indie Pop, Power Pop music. It's a kick in the pants.

The Story of this Indie Pop Power Pop record label is a lot like the story of The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha (the great Spanish Literary Tale). Like the novel Ana Them Recordsis farcical on the surface but the second half (sometime in 2020 for us) will be more serious and philosophical about the theme of deception. Damn, did we lose anyone with that reference? Okay, so we'll stop here and let you dig what we're cooking up. Support local musicians, contribute anyway you can. Participate, get involved! Call your mother!
